What ClearSheet cleans

Upload Excel (.xlsx, .xls), CSV, TSV, or paste a Google Sheets link. ClearSheet runs three cleaning passes on your file and shows you every proposed change before anything is modified.

Duplicates merged. Three-pass deduplication catches exact matches, near-matches by name similarity, and identity-aware composite matches that weigh addresses, phone numbers, and store codes alongside the business name. Subtle duplicates that simple string matching misses are surfaced and grouped.

Names standardized.Inconsistent abbreviations, casing, punctuation, and legal suffixes are normalized. "COCA COLA CO" and "Coca-Cola Company" resolve to the same canonical form. Jammed cells (multiple values crammed into one column) are split into proper fields.

Missing fields filled. Opt into enrichment and ClearSheet looks up verified addresses, phone numbers, cities, states, and ZIP codes via Google Places. Only charged when a cell is actually filled. Not confident? The row is left untouched.

Everything else preserved. Column order, sheet names, store codes, and text formatting stay intact. Leading zeros in ZIP codes, store numbers, and account IDs are not stripped. The output matches your input format (CSV or Excel).

Uncertain fixes flagged. When the engine is not confident about a merge or a normalization, the row is flagged for your review instead of changed. You see exactly which rows need a human decision and which ones are safe to approve.

Change log included. Every fix is tracked per cell. The downloaded workbook includes a Change Log sheet documenting what changed, why, and which rows were merged or flagged. If something looks wrong downstream, you can trace it.
