1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Scott Duyn ("we," "us," or "ClearSheet") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Services.

2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- ClearSheet (clearsheet.co) — spreadsheet cleaning, deduplication, and enrichment
- Any future services we release
Different products may collect different categories of data. Where relevant, we note which product a practice applies to.
3. What data we collect
3.1 Customer Data
When you use one of our Services, you upload or input data that may include personal information about your customers, vendors, employees, or other individuals. This is "Customer Data."
- ClearSheet: spreadsheet files containing names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and similar contact information.
You control what data you provide. We do not solicit additional information about the individuals named in your data.
3.2 Account and transaction information
When you create an account or make a purchase, we collect:
- Your email address (for receipts, account access, and support)
- Your name and company affiliation (where provided)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe — we don't store your card details)
- Information about your purchase or subscription (price, items, timestamp)
3.3 Technical information
When you use a Service, we automatically collect:
- IP address (used for fraud prevention and rate limiting)
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referrer URL
- Date and time of access
This information is collected via server logs and our analytics provider (see Section 5).
3.4 Communications
If you contact us via email, we retain those communications for support and operational purposes.
4. How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide the Services (process your data, deliver outputs, manage your account)
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Provide customer support
- Send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications, service updates)
- Improve the Services, including refining classification, matching, and recommendation systems through aggregated, de-identified analysis
- Comply with legal obligations
- Enforce our Terms of Service
We do not use Customer Data for marketing, advertising, or sale to third parties.
5. Subprocessors and third-party services
We use the following service providers ("Subprocessors") to operate the Services. Each is bound by data protection terms and processes data only as instructed.

We may add or change Subprocessors as the Services evolve. Material changes will be communicated via email or by updating this page.
6. Data retention
- Customer Data (uploaded files in ClearSheet): Retained for 30 days, then automatically deleted.
- Account and transaction records: Retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes (legal requirement).
- Communications (email): Retained for 2 years.
- Server logs: Retained for 30 days.
- Analytics data: Aggregated, anonymized, and retained indefinitely.
You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@clearsheet.co.
7. Data security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) for all data sent to and from the Services
- Encryption at rest for Customer Data stored in our database and file storage
- Access controls limiting employee access to production systems
- Multi-factor authentication for production system access
- Regular security review of our infrastructure
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within the timeframe required by law.
8. Cookies and tracking
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
We use a minimal set of strictly necessary cookies for:
- Session management (keeping you logged in during a session)
- Security (preventing CSRF attacks)
- Stripe checkout (set by Stripe during payment)
We do not use Google Analytics or any cookie-based behavioral analytics. Our analytics provider (Plausible) operates without cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of certain processing (we do not sell data, so this primarily applies to optional communications)
- Restriction: Request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest

10. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in Section 9. Additionally, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we share with.
- You have the right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal retention obligations.
- You have the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Scott Duyn does not sell personal information.
- You have the right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.

11. Geographic scope
The Services are currently provided to customers based in the United States. If you are accessing the Services from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer.
Scott Duyn does not knowingly collect data from individuals located in jurisdictions where we don't currently operate. If you believe data has been collected from such an individual, contact us so we can address it.
12. Children
The Services are not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact hello@clearsheet.co and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Services at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
14. Complaints
If you believe we have violated this Privacy Policy or applicable privacy law, please contact us first at hello@clearsheet.co so we can address the issue. You also have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
