Refund Policy
Effective date: May 12, 2026 Last updated: May 12, 2026
Our policy in plain language
We refund what didn't work. If something went wrong on our end, you'll get your money back. If you didn't like the results, we'll give you credit toward another run so you can try again.
ClearSheet is a digital product. Once you download a file, you have it. Our refund policy is built to protect customers with real problems while preventing abuse — because if "no questions asked" refunds were available after download, the product wouldn't survive.
What you preview before paying
Before you pay, ClearSheet shows you exactly what fixes will be applied to your file:
- Every change is shown in the spreadsheet preview, color-coded by fix type
- You can toggle off any category you don't want — your downloaded file will only include changes you approved
- The price updates live as you toggle
- The audit trail is visible in the preview and included with every download
You're approving specific work at a specific price. Most refund disagreements are avoided because you've already seen what you're paying for.
Re-run first, refund as backstop
If the result isn't right, email hello@clearsheet.co with your session ID within 14 days. We'll re-run your file at no cost. If the re-run still doesn't fix the issue, we refund the full amount.
This is our default path for any "the cleaning didn't work the way I wanted" issue — re-running is fast, costs you nothing, and usually produces a file you can actually use.
When we issue full refunds
We will issue a full refund in the following cases:
Before you download
If you paid but never downloaded the file, request a refund within 7 days and we'll process it. No questions asked.
Technical failure on our end
If the file we delivered was corrupted, didn't open, was the wrong format, was missing data we charged you for, or otherwise didn't function as a usable spreadsheet, we'll refund in full. Email hello@clearsheet.co with:
- The email address you used at checkout
- A description of the technical issue (or attach the broken file)
We'll verify against our records, confirm the failure, and refund within 2 business days.
Categories you approved didn't get applied
The toggles you set on the review page determine what's in your file. If a category you turned ON wasn't actually applied to your downloaded file (e.g., you accepted "Cleaned info" but the file still has uncleaned cells), that's a delivery failure. Email us with details and we'll refund.
Enrichment we charged for that didn't happen
If we charged you for an enrichment fill (a phone, address, or ZIP from Google Places) but the cell in your file is empty or wasn't actually filled, we refund that portion of the charge — even outside the 7-day window. Email us with the row reference.
When we issue credit instead of cash
If you've downloaded the file and the issue is about what kind of cleaning we did (rather than whether we delivered what you approved), we'll issue you credit toward another ClearSheet run. Examples:
- "I wish I had toggled off Cleaned info before paying" — credit, run again with different settings
- "The classifier should have caught more duplicates" — credit, try a different fix selection
- "I want to re-run with a different version of my file" — credit, no questions
Credit is the full value of your purchase, applied to your next ClearSheet checkout. No expiration during your account's active period.
What we don't refund
- Requests made more than 7 days after purchase, except for the technical-failure and enrichment-not-completed cases above
- Dissatisfaction with results that match what you previewed and approved (we did the work; we'll credit toward another run)
- Files you successfully downloaded and used in your business, then later requested a refund for without identifying a specific issue
- Refund requests where we've verified the work was performed correctly per your approved selections
How we verify claims
ClearSheet generates a complete audit trail with every file. When you request a refund for a technical issue, we check:
- Whether your file was successfully generated and downloaded from our records
- The change log we generated for your file
- Server logs for any processing errors
- The state of the categories you accepted at checkout
Most claims resolve in our customers' favor because we want them to come back. We push back only when our records show the work was completed as approved.
Disputes and chargebacks
Please email us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Most issues resolve faster through email and we want to make it right.
Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us, or for purchases that don't fall under the refund cases above, may be disputed and may result in suspension from future use of ClearSheet or other Scott Duyn products.
How to request a refund
Email hello@clearsheet.co with:
- The email address you used at checkout
- The approximate date of your purchase
- A description of the issue
We respond within 2 business days. Refunds, when issued, appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
